3 dead, 4 injured after shooting in Juarez home

EL PASO, Texas (Border Report) – Police in Juarez, Mexico, continue to investigate Saturday’s shooting of seven people in a home less than a quarter mile from the U.S. border.

The shots claimed the lives of three men and left four women injured; several teenagers and children present when the shots rang in the Residencial Paraiso neighborhood out were not injured, police told Border Report news partner ProVideo.

The names of the victims had not been released as of Monday morning. El Diario reported the target was a 45-year-old man who owns a car wash and a restaurant and was having a party at his house.

No arrests have been reported.

A police report obtained by Border Report shows the victims ranged in age from 20 to 45 years old and that three firearms – a .223-caliber rifle, a .22-caliber pistol and a .380 gun – were found at the scene. A pet rattlesnake also was found.

The report says three women ages 21 to 28 were treated and released for gunshot wounds and that a 22-year-old woman remains hospitalized.

Residents told ProVideo they heard more than 30 shots fired in the middle of the night and that weekend all-night parties at the home were frequent.
